LTL PRINTS is a startup company in Philadelphia that creates ‘Larger Than Life’ premium repositionable wall graphics.   We are currently working with artists, designers, and brands from around the world to bring their amazing ‘content’ to empty walls globally, and we are looking to hire an exceptional DIRECTOR OF VIDEO GAME ART LICENSING.

LTL PRINTS is committed to bringing the characters and artwork from all manner of video games to ‘real world’ walls, and we have launched wall graphics for a wide range of premium content partners – including titles from leading global publishers (Sega’s Jet Set Radio Future), legendary classics (Don Bluth’s Dragons Lair), acclaimed indie games (Bit.Trip Runner, Super Meat Boy), and social games (Ninja Warz), along with characters and content from several of the world’s most popular virtual worlds for children (Moshi Monsters, Secret Builders, Poptropica).

Later this month, LTL PRINTS will launch premium wall graphics for several of the world’s premier MMORPG’s, and next month we will launch our first integrated premium wall graphic storefronts In Game / In World – which will allow players to order CUSTOM wall graphics (up to seven feet tall!) of THEIR characters and avatars – from INSIDE their favorite MMORPG’s, Social Games, and Virtual Worlds (via the new LTL PRINTS API).

LTL PRINTS is a small company with a pretty eclectic team – one of our founders is the former COO of Spreadshirt (the European custom t-shirt company), our head of marketing + licensing is a former juror for Into The Pixel, the world’s premier curated exhibition of video game art, and our graphic designer created the Twitter ‘Fail Whale’.

There are currently six of us, working on three continents.

We are looking for an exceptional individual, based anywhere in the world, to work with us to literally CREATE a new medium for creative expression.  Highly applicable domain expertise and international video game content licensing experience is required.  Evangelism of the new LTL PRINTS API will be a big part of this position, and the successful applicant will be at once highly technical AND exceptionally passionate about video games + video game art.

Background:

I have always been a big fan of video games, and as a child kind of perceived them as “magic”.  The creativity and imagination portrayed in games has always been incredibly inspiring.  I have always loved telling stories and I got my degree in Theatre and Film with a desire to be a film director.  After discovering that video games spoke more to me than film ever did, I shifted focus and decided to tell my stories through games.

The Story of BIT.TRIP RUNNER:

BIT.TRIP RUNNER furthers the story of CommanderVideo as he pursues the part of his soul-quest that teaches him that there is no such thing as failure–only progress.

Inspiration:

We were inspired by several games as we embarked upon creating the BIT.TRIP series.  Namely, Pong, Pitfall!, Cosmic Ark, Fast Food, Vib Ribbon, and Rez.  The chipmusic genre has also inspired us a great deal, and we’re proud to have been able to collaborate with chipmusic superstars Bit Shifter, Bubblyfish, Nullsleep, Anamanaguchi, and Minusbaby.

What’s Next:

In the thrilling conclusion to the BIT.TRIP series, we’ll bring CommanderVideo’s story full-circle through familiar gameplay and a return to the basics as our hero finishes his own personal BIT.TRIP.

Bit.Trip Wall Graphics:

We’re so excited to release these BIT.TRIP premium wall graphics, which will be a necessary addition to ANY video game room in ALL houses WORLDWIDE.  We’ve already bought several for the office.  Everyone should!  Giant repositionable self-adhesive wall graphics are so much better than posters.  I only wish that there were more.  Imagine all of your favorite game characters surrounding you as you play your favorite games.  IMAGINE IT!

Parappa the Rapper:

Parappa the Rapper changed my life.  I remember seeing an advertisement for the game and thinking “man, video games have gotten rotten.”  Because I thought it was so absurd, I decided to buy it and see just how lame it was.  In short, it blew my mind.  My mantra changed overnight to “I gotta believe” and I couldn’t stop humming the infectious tunes.  Parappa the Rapper is probably the biggest reason that I have wanted to make music/rhythm games.  It affected me on such a deep level and touched my heart.  I can’t believe that I almost wrote it off.

Precise Hero:

Precise Hero is one of our wonderful fans.  One day, he emailed us out of the blue and asked if it’d be cool to do the Only a Man tribute song.  Being amazing people ourselves, we encouraged him to go nuts and surprise us.  His professionalism and obvious love of the BIT.TRIP series has blown us away.  I only hope we get to collaborate on something again.

Joystiq featured the launch of our first Video Game Wall Graphics.

According to the article:

LTL Prints is launching a line of removable, reusable wall decals featuring art from Smilebit’s 2001 Xbox classic Jet Set Radio Future. Now you can be reminded that there hasn’t been another Jet Set Radio game in years every time you look at your wall! The company and license were brought together by John Doffing, one of the original curators of the Into the Pixel exhibit.

The site features a wide selection of character art as well as posters and even a graffiti image or two, all available in the size of your choice — up to 7 feet tall. Want to turn your office into a shrine to Inspector Hayashi? Or maybe have a horde of Poison Jam watching you eat dinner?

The company claims that the decals can be moved and replaced 100 times without damage to walls, so you can spend plenty of time deciding which room to adorn with Bis, Corn, and Yoyo. Preferably a room with speakers in it — you’ll want to play a continuous loop of Cibo Matto’s “Birthday Cake” for effect.
